- Brand and profile of the existing racking — Dexion, Colby, Macrack and SSI Schäfer parts price differently and have different lead times.
- Access — ground-floor selective is cheap; top of a 12 m drive-in needs a scissor lift or EWP.
- Whether stock must be off-loaded — pallet handling is often the single biggest line item.
- Number of repairs in one visit — mobilisation cost spreads across the job.

A repair quote that misses any of these items is almost always cheaper because it has cut a compliance step, not because the repairer is more efficient. At audit, the missing step becomes a finding against the PCBU — not the contractor.
